Yasmien Saleem

Owner of Orange Blossom Insurance

I wish my family had known an insurance advisor who made the options clear. When I was a teenager, I learned that my mother had life insurance and thought she had been sold something she did not need. Years later, I understood her decision differently: she was a mother of five, and the policy was one practical way of caring for us. That realization is why I can now speak about the value of insurance with conviction.

Today, I work with first- and second-generation Canadians building careers and families while supporting the parents who helped them get here. My work focuses on life insurance, disability insurance and Super Visa medical coverage. I compare available options and explain coverage, duration, underwriting and price so clients can see what fits and what does not. Sometimes a lower-cost option is sufficient. Sometimes the responsible answer is to wait or not buy.

Before financial services, I spent six years in veterinary clinics and research laboratories. That work taught me to collect information carefully, question assumptions, follow evidence and respect the limits of what I know. I bring the same approach to insurance. I also build tools that make the advisory process more complete and connected, so important steps are less likely to be missed and clients do not have to keep repeating themselves.

I built Orange Blossom Insurance around the kind of professional relationship I wish my family had known: one where questions are welcome, trade-offs are visible and trust is earned. When a need falls outside my scope, I work to bring the right professional into the conversation. Good advice should leave you more informed, more capable and less alone than before.
